The College Bar at NUIG is at the heart of student social life on campus at the University. Located in a beautifully restored pre WW1 building, it was once part of a metal industries factory which also has a beautiful patio looking out onto the Eglington Canal. In the 1990's it replaced the previous bar which was located in the main quadrangle
The College Bar was renovated in the last few years and is now a members bar during term time catering for over 15000 students and staff so bad luck if you are not in NUIG. However you can book corparate events here which are especially popular during the Summer when you can take advantage of their large outdoor patio and barbecue area. They also cater to the Christmas party market.
The College Bar also plays host to some great live acts throughout the College year including local & Irish bands as well as having DJs weekly.
